Dear Colleagues and EORNA members all over Europe,

I would like to invite you all to join the fourth celebration of "The Perioperative Nurses Day" which is going to take place on 15th February 2009.
EORNA: s Educational Committee proposes you the followed theme for 2009 which is:

“Safe Surgery Saves Lives”

This year, EORNA supports the WHO 2nd Global Challenge for Patient safety, for patients benefit worldwide.

“Safe Surgery Saves Lives” is priority one for our profession as Operating Room Nurses, in other words giving the best care, secure and protect the patient undergoing surgery from various risks and many faceted situations pre-, intra- and postoperatively.

In this theme, “Safe Surgery Saves Lives”, we have to give deep focus in every patient’s needs of care, showing our professional knowledge, skills, responsibility and visions in this global, extremely important issue.

Let us share this Challenge, which aims to Patient safety in general and in this case specifically - the patients undergoing surgery. Attention Operating Room Nurses! Join this celebration in order to accomplish this mission in every Operating Department all over Europe. Together we shall succeed!
