Dear Colleagues and EORNA members all over Europe,

I wish to invite you all joining in the third celebration of "The Perioperative Nurses Day" which is going to take place on 15th February 2008.

EORNA: s Educational Committee proposes to you the followed theme for 2008 which is “Clean Hands”.

“Clean Hands” means for us as Operating Room Nurses, that we are the profession closely to the patient undergoing surgery, giving the best care, secure and protect the patient from infection risks, pre-, intra- and postoperatively.
In this theme, “Clean Hands”, we have to give focus on Hygiene issues showing up our professions knowledge, skills, responsibility and visions in this global very important matter.
We can visualize Hygiene mainly from our daily clinical perioperative practice which always should be based on evidence from perioperative research point of view.
Let us share definitions, practice and visions in the care we give to the patient as specialist Nurses we are in every Operating Department all over Europe.
