Dear Colleagues and Friends,

A while has gone since EORNA had its fourth congress, EORNAC 2006 in Dublin, Ireland.

There where 2600 participants from 41 different countries and 72 exhibitors, who met up and exchanged knowledge, experience, visions and created bridges to each other.
We can be proud of that, when so many Colleagues and Friends attended EORNA’s congress, which means that EORNA’s competence is needed in different arenas.

A lot of Colleagues felt a tremendous and positive energy having the opportunity to learn from one another, built networks for future collaboration and continuing the old one they had.
Because, dear Colleagues and Friends, the future development in Perioperative Nursing depends also in how much we support, share knowledge and collaborate with each other.

Let us continue the success we had in Dublin and keep in touch. Let us continue together, developing the excellence in Perioperative Nursing for the best and safe care for the patient.

I wish to specially thank the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, for the recognition she gave us Perioperative Nurses, which was a strength given action and had a great meaning for all of us in our profession.

Also a gratitude to Irish Nurses Organisation and their President, Madeline Spiers, for the support they gave EORNA in the work for EORNAC 2006.

Special thanks also to EFN´s President Annette Kennedy, making the European Nurses visible by her attendance.

Friendly thanks also to our guests, the Colleagues from AORN and President-elect Mary Jo Steiert for attending, as also Colleagues from IFPN and President Kate Woodhead and the Colleagues from ACORN and President Marcy McKay.

Many thanks also to Ovation for the very good co-operation we had during the last three years working for EORNAC 2006.

I also would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a nice summer, having time to relax and be with your nearest and dearest.
